About Iver

Influences

I first discovered fantasy through reading The Chronicles of Narnia and The Lord of the Rings, but it wasn’t until I stumbled upon Terry Brooks’ Shannara series and Anne McCaffrey’s Pern series that I really fell in love with the fantasy genre. The characters felt more real and personable, to the point where I cried when a certain Master Harper died. I fell in love and wanted to write my own stories.

I’ve since expanded my reading to several other series across the years. Some of my favorites include The Dresden Files, The Iron Druid Chronicles, The Demon Cycle, He Who Fights with Monsters, A Throne of Glass, and The Stormlight Archive.

Interests

Outside of reading and writing fantasy, my main hobby is Brazilian Jiu Jitsu which I both teach and am a student of. Catching up with friends at coffee shops and going on hikes in the beautiful mountains of Montana are other favorite past times. And lastly, I’m an avid Settlers of Catan player.

Intents

The ultimate goal is to get published. Whether it be done traditionally or on my own, I want my stories available to the people that will enjoy them.

Leading up to that is completing a workable draft and then to query agents for representation. Fortunately, I think I’ll be able to accomplish both by the end of 2024.
